|
Pictures taken on This is Sigmund Solares, I am the CEO of Intercosmos Media Group,
Inc., the operators of directNIC.com in Downtown New Orleans. For the past
week we have continued to operate our data center while just about everyone
else has left. See http://www.livejournal.com/users/interdictor/
for additional details about our struggle to operate our business in Other pictures are available at: http://sigmund.biz/kat20050901 http://sigmund.biz/kat20050901b http://sigmund.biz/kat20050901c http://sigmund.biz/k0200509012 http://sigmund.biz/ http://sigmund.biz/0903/index.html http://sigmund.biz/0904/index.html http://sigmund.biz/0906/index.html This morning when I woke up I could smell smoke in the air. I
figured that there would be at least one big fire somewhere. Since our
freight elevator was out I had to climb from the 10th floor to the
28th floor to the roof to survey the area. From the roof I noticed
that there were in fact 2 major fires and additional smoke coming from a
couple other areas. |

The ugly short building visible to the right of the Bell
South building is City Hall. There is no longer flooding in front of City
Hall. This means that the City officials can now reach City Hall without
needing a high water vehicle. Unfortunately the basement at City Hall is
still flooded. |
